Since the birth of my little girl, I have found a new level of love and respect for my parents. Parenting is the toughest aspect of my life. However, having my Mom and Dad close to me (about two blocks away) give me the extra support that I need. Over the weekend we hiked into Placerita Canyon up to a beautiful waterfall. It was a 3 mile hike with a minimal trail. We hiked uphill and down hill, through mud and mini streams, took steps that extended the flexibility of our legs, and scaled paths that challenged our balance. On the entire hike, I held my Mom’s hand. Do you know how amazing that is? This is a woman who has given me strength for 37 years and here I got to repay the favor. We got to about 25 feet from the waterfall and she quietly told me that she was done…it was within sight and she was happy. I continued on over a fallen tree trunk and met my husband and daughter under the fall.
