All around me there is the mad rush of a Monday morning. Cars honking, people scurrying around, bumper-to-bumper traffic. I, on the other hand, am consciously oblivious to all of this. It is the day before my madness starts and in order for me to manage my madness, I need a day of pure, and utter oblivion. I am in denial that tomorrow I will be rushing, no matter how well I have planned my schedule. I am in denial that tomorrow there will be people who will want things NOW, after having had all summer to request them. I am in denial that the outfit I have picked for tomorrow will not be what I wear out the door. And, most of all, I am in denial that I will calmly face the first day back at school. For those of you in the rat race this morning, take a step back, open an email joke, and laugh…before you know it, Tuesday will be here.
